A boneless pork chop is a slice from a pork loin, the cut you would order if you were making a pork roast.

Because there are no bones, they will bake faster than the rib or chops, as the bone isn't there to insulate them from direct heat.

There's no cream in my recipe, as it isn't a sauce.

But instead, the pork is coated in grain mustard and is ready to eat and on the table in around 30 minutes.

These pork loin steaks could also be cooked in an air fryer. 😉 I'll include the air fryer instructions in the recipe card below.

I always use Maille wholegrain mustard, but of course, you can use whichever brand you prefer.

It is worth spending a little more on good quality grain mustard, as cheaper brands are far too vinegary in taste.

You can replace it with Dijon if you prefer, but be aware that Dijon is stronger in flavour and might be overpowering.

How long does it take to bake boneless pork chops in the oven?

It depends on how thin or thick your loin steaks are, and of course, how you like them cooked.

As you can see, we like ours on the well-done side. 😊

Just check on them after 20 minutes to see how they're doing.

It's always a good thing to check the internal temperature of any meat or poultry with an instant read food thermometer.

Thermapen have this handy food temperature chart that's worth checking out.

Mustard Pork Chops

Mustard Pork Chops

These oven-baked boneless pork chops can easily be cooked in the air fryer. Instructions below.
Prep time: 5 MinCook time: 25 MinTotal time: 30 Min

Ingredients

  • 4 thinly cut pork loin steaks - to serve 2, use more if you wish
  • olive oil
  • wholegrain mustard

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 180°C / 350°F or Gas 4
  1. Trim them of most, but not all, the fat and lay the pork steaks in a non-stick baking dish. Smear each of them with a tiny amount of oil and spoon a good amount of mustard.
  2. Put them into your preheated oven on the middle shelf and cook for 25-30 minutes. The exact time will depend on how thick your pork is and how well you like your chops cooked.
  3. Turn them halfway through, and add more mustard if you think they need it.
  4. Once cooked to your liking, cover the chops with a foil tent and leave to rest for 3-4 minutes before serving.
To cook in an air fryer
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C / 400°F some air fryers do not need to be preheated.
  2. Dry the chops with kitchen paper and then coat them in a tiny amount of oil. Add the grain mustard to your liking.
  3. Put the chops into the air fryer leaving a little space between each one and cook for 10-12 minutes, or longer if the chops are thicker and larger.
  4. Check they are fully cooked through and leave to rest for 3-4 minutes before serving.
