Have you ever used Bacofoil® The Non-Stick Kitchen Foil before? I use it all the time now ever since I first tried it ages ago. It really is life-changing (in the kitchen anyway)!
Just recently I was asked to take part in the Swap Your Oil for Bacofoil® challenge; if you haven't used it before read on to see how amazing it is and I'm certain you'll love it.
Because it's strong and doesn't tear easily, it means there are no wasted torn sheets. It really is non-stick so you don't have to have fancy non-stick baking trays as the food lifts directly off of the foil without the need to use oil in order to stop sticking.
It's a household name that's been around since 1962 so it's the same age as me 😊 and is trusted by millions of households to help prepare, cook and store food quickly, easily and safely.
Bacofoil® even have an EasyCut® Foil dispenser which is just brilliant and in my opinion more hygienic as your hands don't touch the foil when you're tearing off a length from the roll; love it!
Using Bacofoil® The Non-Stick Kitchen Foil as a non-stick alternative is a much healthier option when cooking pesky foods such as salmon, fish fingers, skin-on chicken, Chinese-style sticky pork belly slices or sticky BBQ sauce coated ribs etc.
Always cook on the non-shiny/dull side of BacoFoil
It's important to remember to always cook on the non-shiny (dull side) because this is the side with the BacoLift® non-stick surface.
Anyway here's a little food diary of how using Bacofoil® made my life so much easier this week.
Monday
We had these pork loin steaks that I coated in a mixture of honey and wholegrain mustard.
The main picture is above but you can see how easily they lifted off of the unique BacoLift® surface which prevents food from sticking without the need to add any oil.
I'm always trying to make life easier in the kitchen and of course to use less oil when cooking. But no oil, of course, is even better; despite the name of my website which I started 11 years ago.
The name came about since I find it hard to follow recipes and hate having to measure things so a pinch of this or a dollop of that and a 'glug' of oil is more my style!
Tuesday
For another extra sticky challenge I cooked Sticky Chilli Chicken Wings and believe me they usually make a right mess of any non-stick baking tray so I was once again thankful for Bacofoil® The Non-Stick Kitchen Foil.
See how easily they lift off of the BacoLift® surface - brilliant!
I know I've already said this, but if you use Bacofoil® The Non-Stick Kitchen Foil there's no need to add oil.
Plus you can simply throw the foil away when you're done, which not only saves on water but there's far less mess and your baking tray will still be shiny like a new pin.
Pretty marvellous ah?! So you don't need to spend the rest of the evening trying desperately to clean the baking tray.
No need for all that washing up because as you can see the baking tray is still clean, just fold the foil and pop it into the bin.
By the way, in case you're wondering, all of Bacofoil®’s aluminium products are 100% recyclable which is brilliant.
Wednesday
Today I had a go at cooking Halloumi cheese pressed into sweet paprika and dried oregano without adding any oil to stop them from sticking to the pan.
So instead of shallow frying as I usually would, I baked the coated Halloumi in a preheated oven 200c for about 10-15 minutes and it turned out brilliantly.
I'll definitely do this again using a Bacofoil® Non-Stick Foil lined tray.
Thursday
We had our dinner round at my mother-in-laws but earlier in the day a friend came round with her two little boys. I always keep a bag of chicken dippers in the freezer since they love them.
Yes, she already thinks I'm quite mad but I think this has confirmed it for her; because I felt the need to take a quick photo just to show how easily they lift off without losing any of the lovely crispy batter.
Anyway I have apparently now converted her, and she has ditched her usual kitchen foil for Bacofoil® The Non-Stick Kitchen Foil 😊
Friday
I felt the need to make Chocolate Chip Cookies, as you do and realised I'd run out of greaseproof paper so instead, I used Bacofoil® The Non-Stick Kitchen Foil and it worked a treat.
No photo of my not so amazing (looks-wise) cookies as I'm no baker as you probably already know. But they slid off of the tray without sticking and tasted as good as they should.
Saturday
Now, this was a seriously sticky challenge for Bacofoil® by making Hoisin Pork Belly. If you've ever made these you'll know what a nightmare it is to stop it from sticking without using oil.
Once again it was a godsend. They were a starter dish to our Saturday night homemade takeaway-style meal of Kung Pao Chicken and yep they lifted off without sticking; not even a tiny bit.
Sunday
We had such a busy day we didn't have time for a Sunday roast, and anyway, sometimes it's good to have a change so instead, we had brunch (sounds posh ah)! I made these Potato and Carrot Hash Browns and served them with bacon, egg and tomatoes.
Usually, hash browns are shallow fried in oil but I've discovered they work well in the oven too. They're really easy to make just mix together grated potato, onion and carrot.
Season the mixture with salt and pepper and stir through a beaten egg. Line a tray with Bacofoil® The Non-Stick Kitchen Foil and there's no need to add oil; don't worry they won't stick I promise.
Pop them into a preheated oven 200c for 15 minutes before turning, and cooking for another 10 minutes or so.
Once again they easily lifted off of the Bacofoil® foil and were still nice and crispy.
No Sticking, No Cleaning, No Worries!
Food looks and tastes like it should as it simply slides/lifts right off the foil. No sticking, no mess!

If you've never used it before then do give it a go and you'll see just how amazing it is.
Hassle and Oil-Free
It saves on the washing up; the foil not only protects the tray but because of the BacoLift® surface there’s no worry of the food sticking to the foil.
So there's no fear of oil and grease seeping through because it's tough and doesn't tear which would create holes in the foil and make a mess.
Bacofoil® The Non-Stick Kitchen Foil is suitable for cooking, baking, roasting and freezing.
So in my kitchen, it's an everyday essential; because so many foods get stuck when cooking that this product is a great help in the kitchen on a daily basis.

Omg I need this in my life, I made pizzas for the family recently and failed to use oil on normal foil and ended up with a right mess!! And love that I don’t need to use oil with this to avoid overly greasy food! Super tip! Also can’t wait to make the hash browns (yum) and use my bacofoil!
ReplyDeleteOnce you try it you wont go back to regular foil and you'll have no more pizza problems!
DeleteGlad you're going to make the carrot hash browns :)
I've used Bacofoil for years now and it definitely keeps all your tins and baking sheets sparkling clean. It makes a very healthy option for cooking all those lovely tasty foods that you would normally use oil for. I have some pork fillet which I will be coating in something sticky and will be reaching for my Bacofoil. Another of my favourites is Bacofoil baking paper - you can use it for savoury cooking as well as all your pastries and cookies. Remember to add it to your shopping list.
ReplyDeleteIt's brilliant isn't it!
