AnySharp Knife Sharpener - Review

This rather tiny knife sharpener is really easy to use and I found it to do an excellent job of sharpening a blunt knife.

Since I only had one knife that could do with sharpening I used the AnySharp to sharpen Paul's mum's knives and she was well pleased 😊

AnySharp Knife Sharpener

As the optimum angle to sharpen a good quality steel knife is 20 degrees. AnySharp is pre-set at 20 degrees to give an optimum edge every time.

To use a sharpening stone you would need some training as getting a consistent angle with a sharpening stone is a skilled job. But the AnySharp really is easy to use.

Hands-free safety

Love that the AnySharp has a suction cup base, which attaches securely to any smooth surface or worktop without the need for any tools; although I found it doesn't work too well on wood.

But it has a really good, strong grip on a regular worktop in the kitchen and once it’s attached you can sharpen any knife safely hands-free.

Knife edge safety

When your whole knife has been run through, your knife edge may touch as it exits the sharpening tools.

The AnySharp has a long-lasting polymer guiding top that is softer than metal, and therefore won’t damage the metal edge, making it safe for your knives too.

All you need is easy, light strokes to get your knife sharp again.

Compact

The AnySharp is really small at around 6x5cm which is good news for me as my kitchen is very limited on space.

It's worth noting that the AnySharp does not work well with heavy strokes or too much pressure. If you do, it simply won't do a good job.

Also, some specific kinds of knives may not be suitable for this sharpener, such as serrated bread knives or combined-edge pocket knives. I had an old really blunt knife and it did wonders.

Yep, all in all, the AnySharp is well worth its £15 price tag. AnySharp is guaranteed for 10 years which is brilliant.
