A fondue filled with hot Toblerone Custard Sauce, what could be better?
Add bananas and marshmallows for dipping and you have the perfect Chocolate Lovers sharing dessert. And yes, you do have to share!
My first attempt at making this was a disaster that actually resulted in me recipe for Toblerone Snowball Truffles, so all good in the end
The nice people over at Toblerone asked me to come up with a fondue recipe that included Toblerone.
So armed with the rather nice Fondue set they sent me along with lovely bars of Toblerone, into the kitchen I went and came up with Toblerone Custard.
Of course, you can make your own custard but let's cheat and go for the really simple option and that is to use a well-known custard powder mix.
Toblerone Custard Fondue
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon Custard Powder
- 200ml milk
- 5 triangles of Toblerone
- Marshmallows
Instructions
- Add 1 tablespoon of custard powder into a bowl along with a couple of tablespoons of milk taken from 200ml.
- Mix together the powder and the milk, but don't add sugar as suggested in the instructions because once the Toblerone is added it will be far too sweet.
- Add the rest of the milk and whisk till smooth; then into a small saucepan and over a low heat mix until it begins to thicken.
- Melt 5 triangles of Toblerone taken from a 400g bar (you can eat the rest later)!
- Add the melted chocolate to the custard and mix well.
- Pour into the Fondue and light the little heater that comes with it to keep melted and warm.
- Serve with chopped banana and marshmallows and enjoy!
